"Antioxidants are compounds that neutralize harmful free radicals in our bodies, contributing to the prevention of various chronic diseases. They can be found in many foods and plants such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, tea, spices, and herbal supplements. Here are some antioxidant-rich foods and their benefits to our health:


- **Dark Chocolate**: Dark chocolate, made from the seeds of the cacao tree, contains powerful antioxidants like flavanols and polyphenols. These antioxidants offer various health benefits such as reducing the risk of heart disease, lowering blood pressure, and reducing inflammation¹. Dark chocolate also contains essential nutrients like fiber, iron, magnesium, copper, zinc, and selenium. However, it's important to moderate its consumption due to its high calorie and sugar content.


- **Artichoke**: Artichoke is a vegetable rich in antioxidants like chlorogenic acid. Chlorogenic acid provides benefits such as supporting liver health, regulating blood sugar levels, and inhibiting the growth of cancer cells².
